It takes a lot of
great staff
to make a
great university.
As the tenth largest employer in Connecticut with over 8,000 staff and 3,000 faculty, Yale University offers exciting career opportunities in a broad spectrum of career families. For employment purposes, think of us more as a small city than a large school.
Our culture:
Yale University is not just one of the finest educational institutions in the world. It's an academic culture of cooperation among staff, faculty and students that creates an exciting working environment for everyone, whether teaching, doing research, administering clinical care or providing vital support towards those ends. Sure, we have taught and graduated individuals who now run the country, and others who are Pulitzer or Nobel prize winners or star in the latest films. However, Yale is also a community of accountants, computer specialists, nurses, laboratory technicians, administrative assistants, research assistants and a host of other professionals who want a career with a world-class institution, making it even greater.
Our workplace:
Information technology is state of the art, with current implementation of a fully integrated suite of Oracle based administrative systems for financial analysis and reporting and for human resource/payroll systems. The biomedical and other scientific laboratories are among the exceptional facilities that place Yale at the leading edge of scientific and biomedical research. The Yale University Library is known for its rich collections, and is among the finest such research institutions in the world. The numerous museums and galleries house unique collections of books, art and artifacts. With over 210 buildings on 2,000 acres, you could work in a modern high-rise or the dorm where Nathan Hale slept.
Our stress busters:
Recreational facilities at Yale, available for use by the staff, make any corporate exercise room or club membership pale by comparison. As an employee, you can join the largest gymnasium in the country with newly refurbished exercise and weight rooms, fencing and polo, to name a few. You can play golf at reduced daily rates on a course ranked 69th in the country by Golf Magazine or play tennis on one of our 22 recently reconditioned courts (four of them indoor). Sail at our yacht club or camp out in one of our cabins in the forests of central Connecticut.
