Seminole Electric Cooperative Inc. is a generation and transmission cooperative located in Tampa, Florida. Approximately 1.6 million individuals and businesses in 46 of Florida's 67 counties rely on Seminole and its 10 member distribution systems for their electric power. Robust population growth in Florida and particularly in Seminole's service territory will require the addition of more than 4,000 MW of new generating capability over the next decade, based on current forecasts. Our coal-fueled, 1300 megawatt Seminole Generating Station is located in Putnam County and was put into commercial service in 1984. The Payne Creek station, located in Hardee County, is a 500 megawatt combined cycle plant that uses natural gas as its primary fuel source. Seminole offers competitive salaries and a wide range of benefits including a pension plan, a separate 401k plan with matching funds, health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and disability insurance. Insurance coverage begins on the first day of employment. Qualified dependents are eligible for partially co-op subsidized health and dental coverage. Seminole also offers comprehensive in-house training and development programs and educational assistance to provide for employee growth and better serve our member systems and their retail member-owner consumers. |
