Founded as a Christian ministry of healing, Baylor Health Care System exists to serve all people through exemplary health care, education, research and community service. Baylor Health Care System, a not-for-profit health care provider based in North Texas, is a growing network of hospitals, primary care physician centers and practices, rehabilitation clinics, senior health centers, and affiliated ambulatory surgery centers. Baylor Health care System also provides cohesive and coordinated research efforts through the Baylor Research Institute.

Baylor All Saints Medical Center, Fort Worth, Texas (1)
Baylor All Saints Medical Center at Fort Worth, located near downtown Fort Worth, is a full-service hospital dedicated to providing for the health care needs of the community. Baylor All Saints is among Tarrant County’s oldest not-for-profit hospitals and will celebrate 100 years of service this year. The medical center has 537 licensed beds and offers a broad range of medical services including programs of excellence in cardiology, transplantation, neurosciences, oncology and women’s services.
Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation at Gaston Episcopal Hospital, Dallas, Texas (1)
Helping people overcome serious disabilities and restoring them to full, productive lives is the goal of the clinical staff at the 116-bed, not-for-profit Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation at Gaston Episcopal Hospital. Baylor Rehab offers intense, highly specialized rehabilitation services for traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, and other orthopaedic and neurological disorders. Physicians specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation, known as physiatrists, lead interdisciplinary clinical teams, which work with patients to design and implement a treatment program to achieve the patient’s goals. In 2005, Baylor Rehab was named among the top rehabilitation hospitals in U.S. Nes & World Report’s “America’s Best Hospitals” guide.

Baylor Medical Center at Garland, Garland, Texas (1)
Baylor Medical Center at Garland, located in the heart of this east Dallas County community, continues to grow and reflect the medical needs of its residents. The Don and Ruth Buchholz Pavilion, opened in 2004, added nearly 105,000-square-feet and 50 new patient rooms to Baylor Garland. The pavilion unifies the medical center and the adjoining physician office building into a sleek medical complex. Outside the pavilion, the Serenity Garden, a beautifully landscaped setting for relaxation and meditation represents the “healing environment” created at Baylor Garland.
Patients using the medical services on the campus still will find advanced medical technology in heart and vascular care, neurosurgery, breast health, women’s services, neonatal intensive care, digestive disease, medical imaging, senior health care, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Nearly 225 primary care physicians are on Baylor Garland’s medical staff to serve the health care needs of citizens in Garland, Wylie, Richardson, Rowlett, Rockwall, Sachse, Mesquite and Murphy.

Baylor Medical Center at Irving continues to expand its services to meet the community’s medical needs, keeping pace with Irving’s growth. The not-for-profit, full service facility offers advanced health care services in neurosciences, cardiovascular, oncology treatment and research, orthopedic surgery and emergency medicine. Centrally located on State Highway 183, Baylor Irving facility offers the depth of medical services often found in larger medical facilities.
Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie, Waxahachie, Texas (1)
Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie is a not-for-porfit, 69-bed hospital dedicated to providing technologically advanced medical care closer to home for residents of southern Dallas and Ellis Counties. In response to its growing communities, Baylor Waxahachie continues to expand its medical staff to include medical specialists and primary care physicians. This year, nine physicians joined the medical staff, with expertise in obstetrics and gynecology, orthopaedic surgery, general surgery, pediatric cardiology and emergency medicine. The hospital plans to add another 18 physicians to the medical staff this year.

Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine is a 164-bed, full-service, fully-accredited hospital, serving residents in more than 20 cities throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The hospital offers advanced medical care for brain and spine conditions, cardiovascular care, intensive care, diagnostic imaging, digestive diseases, women’s services, neonatal intensive care, sleep disorders and emergency care.

Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano brings residents of Collin County and North Texas the benefits of an acute care medical and surgical facility that meets adult health care needs. Baylor Plano provides comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and follow-up care to meet the growing needs of the community. Highly specialized clinical services include internal medicine, gastroenterology, neurology, dermatology, pulmonology, orthopaedics, medical and radiation oncology, and cardiovascular services.

Baylor Specialty Hospital focuses on continuing care for the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients with complex medical and rehabilitation needs. Because of chronic illness or frailty, some patients need additional hospital care before returning home. The hospital’s highly trained multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, therapist and other professionals balance advanced technology and focused, compassionate care to treat patients with complex medical conditions. The goal is to help each patient regain the best functioning possible, based on his or her condition.

Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, a not-for-profit medical center, cares for more than 300,000 people each year. In 1903, the hospital opened with 25 beds; today it is a major patient care, teaching and research center for the Southwest. Baylor University Medical Center serves as the flagship hospital of the Baylor Health Care System.

Our Children’s House at Baylor (OCH), a licensed children’s hospital, is dedicated to giving quality care to children from infancy to age 18 who need medical care and treatment for developmental or birth disorders, traumatic injury or sever illness. From the home-like setting in a Victorian-style house to the tools and equipment used, the OCH staff treats children like children.
Staff educates parents and siblings on the care at home to help maximize the health of the child when he or she returns home. Medical care often is complex and requires a team of pediatric specialists, including neurologists, pediatricians, physiatrists, cardiologists, pulmonologists and gastroenterologists. Working alongside the medical team are pediatric specialists in child-life, cardiopulmonary, speech-language, occupational and physical therapies plus nurse practitioners, dietitians, nurses, social workers and nurse case managers. Since the founding of the original hospital, Baylor has opened outpatient centers with similar medical services in the communities of Allen, Coppell, Dallas, Frisco, Grapevine, Irving and Waxahachie.

THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano, Plano, Texas (3)
THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano will be the first and only freestanding hospital in Collin County dedicated solely to heart and vascular health care. The $100 million, 68-bed hospital is scheduled to open in January 2007 and has been designed to maximize the delivery of safe, quality, compassionate health care. THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano was created through a partnership between Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano and 86 cardiovascular physicians and surgeons practicing in North Texas.

It's important to us that we bring you a variety of programs and benefits that support your personal as well as professional goals. We know that individual needs and interests are different and having choices is important to you.

Baylor understands how vital the health of you and your family is to your peace of mind. That's why we offer a choice of medical plan options, so that you can select the coverage that suits you best. At Baylor, eligibility for medical benefits is available day one.
Here's an overview of Baylor's Total Compensation package:
Medical
Baylor offers three plan options:
- Lumenos CDP Gold - Offers you the choice of visiting any licensed physician, the opportunity to roll over your health reimbursement account from year to year and tools to help manage your healthcare needs.
- Lumenos CDP Silver - Offers benefits identical to the Gold Option but has a higher out-of-pocket maximum and lower premium costs.
- Lumenos CDP Bronze - Offers benefits identical to the other plan options, but with the highest out-of-pocket maximum and the lowest premium costs.
Each medical option includes prescription drug benefits through retail pharmacies and mail order.
Dental
- Aetna DMO is our managed care option. You must select a primary care dentist for you and each covered family member. You pay no deductibles and receive most preventive care at no cost. You pay only your share of the cost for other dental expenses and the amount depends on the services you receive.
- MetLife PPO is the preferred provider option. You may use in-network and/or out-of-network providers. The plan pays 100% of preventive care with no deductible. You must meet a deductible before benefits for other types of dental services begin.
Vision
Coverage is offered through Superior Vision Services. You may use in-network or out-of-network vision care providers. You may receive benefits for either contact lenses or eyeglass frames once every twelve months.
Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D)
- Basic Employee Life Insurance is paid by Baylor and provides you basic life insurance equal to your annualized base pay (based on authorized hours in primary position) up to $50,000.
- Voluntary Life Insurance provides additional coverage and is available for you, your spouse, and/or child(ren).
- Basic AD&D Insurance is paid by Baylor and provides Basic AD&D coverage equal to your annualized base pay up to $50,000 (based on authorized hours in primary position).
- Voluntary AD&D Insurance is available for you and your family.
Disability
- After 90 days of service, eligible employees receive three days of sick pay per calendar year (two days for TDA employees)
- After 90 days of service, Baylor provides eligible employees Basic Short-Term Disability (STD) protection at no cost. After a qualified employee misses three consecutive working days due to a qualified illness, STD pays 100% or 60% of annualized base pay (based upon authorized hours in primary position) for a maximum of 180 days if approved.
- Basic Long-Term Disability (LTD), provided by Baylor at no cost to eligible employees, provides protection when a disability extends beyond 180 days. It pays 50% of annualized base pay (based on authorized hours in primary position) up to a maximum of $15,000 per month, if approved.
- Voluntary Long-Term Disability gives you the option to increase your LTD coverage by an additional 20% to a total of 70% of annualized base pay (based upon authorized hours in primary position) to a maximum of $15,000 per month. If you wish to elect coverage after initially enrollment period, evidence of Insurability will be required.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Baylor offers the Health Care FSA and the Dependent Day Care FSA. Contributions are deducted from your paycheck before federal income taxes, resulting in lower overall taxes paid.
- You may elect to pay for eligible healthcare expenses with pre-tax deposits to the Health Care FSA. Certain over-the-counter medications are reimbursable from the Health Care FSA.
- You may elect to pay for eligible dependent day care expenses with pre-tax deposits to the Dependent Day Care FSA.
You may view your FSA account balances, including year-to-date contributions, claims, and reimbursements, online.
You may elect to direct deposit reimbursements for both accounts.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
You are eligible for PTO after three months of employment.
PTO may be used as vacation pay, personal time off, and holiday pay. PTO accrues based on regular hours worked. The annual accrual for regular, full-time employees is 152 hours for 1-4 years of service and 192 hours for 5-9 years of service.
You may be eligible to sell back your PTO at the end of the year for 90% of its value
Tuition Reimbursement
Full-time employees are eligible following six months of employment. Baylor reimburses 100% of "residency" in-state rates for approved courses completed with a grade of "C-" or above.
Retirement Savings Plan
You are immediately eligible to make contributions and receive Company Matching funds. Employees may contribute 1% - 50% of eligible pay on a pre-tax and after tax basis.
Baylor contributes $1 for each $1 you contribute (up to 5% of eligible pay). Company Matching funds vest on a five year schedule.
VHA Portable Benefits
Baylor Health Care System is a member of the VHA Inc. network of Health Care Organizations. Ask your Human Resources department representative how some benefits can transfer from other VHA Health Care Organizations.
